Yellow gold, stalagmite crystal slice. The sculptural and tonal beauty of these naturally occuring crystals caught my attention. They are formed as icicle shaped mineral deposits and not many jewelers use this kind of crystal so it immediately stood out to me as an interesting project. This necklace is made up of stalagmite cyrstal on a gold chain. This slice has been hand drilled and fit with a 14K gold jump ring and 16" chain.

1.5 carats in five trillion cut diamonds, set in white gold. Diamonds were once believed to be hardened dew drops, crystallized lightning or splinters from the stars. This necklace was made from various trillions we had in the studio. Each diamond is set in a delicate white gold bezel which allows the light to pass through the stone on each side. They are laid out asymmetrically along the white gold 18” chain because we like to change it up a bit. Romans wore diamonds not as jewelery but as talismans to ward off evil.

When your most glamorous stylish fashionista friend has a birthday, one must think up a design that can fit her multitude of styles and fashion moods. We needed something a little different and edgy (rose gold and black diamond) for the girl who likes to sport conversation pieces, and something a little classic so that she can wear it every day and with everything. So this design was made. And we engraved an initial on it for the occasion. Since we coveted one too, we made one for ourselves (rose gold with a white diamond), and decided to also make it a part of the AKJ collection. Now you can have one too.
